Discount Labels Invests in 7th ABG Digicon Finisher

There are one thousand AB Graphic International, Inc. (ABG) Digicon Finishers installed worldwide, and Discount Labels now owns and operates seven of them. That’s the largest number under one roof among US label printers!

ABG’s flagship product launched in 2014, the Digicon Series 3 is the result of 17 years of developing, producing, and improving finishing systems. The Digicon Series 3 Finisher features FAST Track die, the world’s fastest semi-rotary die-cutting system that runs at 500 feet per minute.

“AB Graphic International is very grateful for the ongoing relationship and support from Discount Labels,” says Wes Harrington, Regional Sales Manager for ABG. “They are forward thinking, innovative and certainly a step ahead with mix of digital finishing employed. The FAST Track Digicon Series 3 is the latest commitment towards their continuing efforts to supply their customers with the best quality and service.”

The ABG FAST Track Digicon Series 3 means more finishing capacity, accuracy, flexibility, options such as cold foil, and overall quality for you to offer your customers—a powerful selling tool providing substantial competitive advantage. With seven of them backed by 60+ presses and 200 people in the pressroom, that’s a lot of printing and finishing firepower to meet your customers’ needs. Cold foil joins an array of options including varnish, stack finishing, perforations, and lamination.

We all know that the devil is in the details, and beautiful custom label print jobs that go south during finishing can be a noose around the neck. The FAST Track Digicon Series 3 helps turn potential shortcomings and problems into profits. The Finisher features new automation to reduce set-up times and maximize digital capacity and quality—including an automated slitter and automated scoring capabilities. Other plusses are accuracy, flexibility, ease of use, and ability to accommodate roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet finishing.

“Our commitment to ABG finishers started in 2009. Their reliability and relative ease of use laid the foundation for continuing purchases in the nine years since,” says Mike Gore, VP Operations for Discount Labels. “The fact that we now have seven Digicons under one roof here in Indiana, the most of any label manufacturer in the US, documents ABG’s performance and support as well as our commitment to our customers.”
