Discount Labels just celebrated its 51st anniversary. Celebrating accomplishments and accolades made possible by our 500+ employees in the last year alone is awesome and humbling at the same time. Our annual company picnic on July 22 was one way to show the power of “thank you” and spend some quality time celebrating employee appreciation.
“Too often, companies talk the glowing talk about their operations, their people, and their accomplishments that makes good marketing copy but isn’t authentic. I’m happy to say that our company picnic is a heartfelt way to celebrate accomplishments of our people, who have proven loyal and supportive of the company through good and bad times,” says Mike Gore, VP Operations. “In fact, some of our most remarkable employee performances come from problem-solving. For 51 years, our employees have embraced the importance of having their customers’ backs at all times. The least we can do in return is provide an opportunity to enjoy some good food and festivities.”
Among highlights celebrating accomplishments of our employees leading up to the 51st anniversary are:
- May 16, 2016 – Formed a strategic partnership with Lancer Label, another custom label trade reseller company based in Omaha, NE., cementing ability to offer the largest selection of custom label solutions nationwide.
- May 4, 2016 – Approved by the Underwriters Laboratory for the PGJI2 category of UL Labels, expanding the scope of such specialty label solutions as variable data and expanded content. The PGJI2 product category covers products that are intended to receive additional printing by end-use product manufacturers using thermal transfer equipment.
- October 27, 2015 – Announced the purchase and installation of a new HP Indigo 6800 Digital Press, bringing the total to seven digital presses (more than 75 custom label presses in all).
